If you are an SAP customer, the below-listed components and functionalities might be critical for your day-to-day business.
The main SAP integration-specific components include:
OpenText ABAP add-ons, which are installed on SAP side, and support the seamless integration into SAP ERP (ECC), SAP CRM, SAP S/4HANA (on-prem, private cloud, public cloud).
DP processor is responsible for receiving the spool file from SAP and sending it to OpenText Communications (formerly Exstream) for further document generation and distribution. DP Processor is also taking care of sending each spool status back to SAP. Supported SAP input file formats are: RDI, XML (XSF, XDF, XFP), SAPGOF.
DP Admin UI is the user interface for connecting to SAP Spool system and mapping with required OpenText Communications (formerly Exstream) communication templates/ communications for proper document generation. DP Admin UI provides the UI to connect to the SAP systems and its print devices (XOM interface), managing OpenText Communications connections and map/managing the SAP print devices with OpenText Communications templates/ communications. It is also used for monitoring the print jobs.
DM Submit contains the components that connect to Document Presentment CE and process the data in OpenText Communications (formerly Exstream) to receive and send in SAP-specific format.
Connect for SAP DM Submit allows to send data from SAP Spool system to DP Processor using Rest API and DP Processor further processes the data in OpenText Communications (formerly Exstream) for document generation. Connect for SAP DM Submit is available on various Windows and UNIX platforms.
Archiving for SAP connector – Document Presentment comes with an out-of-the-box integration option with OpenText Archive Center (Core Archive), which is used to archive documents generated by Document Presentment.
OpenText Document Presentment Live (Cloud Native) for Live Letters
Document Presentment Live (Cloud Native) is a separate solution, which can be implemented in addition to OpenText Document Presentment for SAP Solutions (Cloud Native). It is designed for business users, such as customer service agents, brokers, and others, who need to create letters, offers, notes, and other types of documents on the fly. The solution integrates seamlessly into the SAP UI (SAP Fiori, SAP ERP/ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP CRM, SAP Cloud for Customer).
The core feature is Live Letters. Certain sections of the letters can be locked to prevent editing, while other parts can remain editable by authorized business users. If an editable field is marked as mandatory, the letter cannot be finalized until the user completes that field. The letter can automatically pull data from SAP, such as customer name, address, contract number, and more. Users can quickly locate the appropriate template, make necessary modifications, choose the delivery method, and include personalized messages. The finalized documents can then be sent either by mail or electronically.
Communications shown in Live Letters are based on OpenText Communications (Exstream) Cloud Native components, such as Communications Designer, Content Author, and Empower Editor.
