OpenText Output Manager (formerly Vista Plus Output Manager (VPOM) provides a management and control infrastructure to ensure delivery of output to printers, report archives, or other output devices. OpenText VPOM accepts print streams from a variety of sources (like OpenText Exstream, OpenText Document Presentment for SAP), applies optional pre-processing requirements, and delivers the output to the correct destination devices (e.g. printers). Output Manager provides centralized views of jobs and output devices.
Output Manager monitors and reports the job’s status throughout its lifecycle. Using the concept of a job lifecycle, the input, process, and output stages can be described in terms of the following workflow activities: job submission, job capture, job scheduling and notification, job processing, printing.
In general, if set up was done correctly, the Output Manager is a “back office” application. Once it is installed and configured, there is no need to continue to interact with the system, other than to monitor and troubleshoot failed jobs.
